Board of Directors and Officers

President—Open

Responsibilities include setting the agenda and running board meetings, working with other board members to establish the directions and goals for OURS, and managing the OURS website.  This position is a two year commitment and requires 2-3 volunteer hours per month. 

Vice President—Tanya Londo

Responsibilities include conducting board meetings in the absence of the President, serving on the conference workshop committee and as liaison to the board, maintaining the OURS book collection, and maintaining the OURS scrapbook.  This position is a two year commitment and requires 2-3 volunteer hours per month.

Treasurer—Holly Brick

Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, preparing monthly statements, compiling an end-of-year statement, preparing tax forms, maintaining cash box for OURS events, and paying various bills.  This position is a two year commitment and requires 2-4 volunteer hours per month

Secretary—Tina Novak

Responsibilities include preparing minutes for the board meetings, update, print and mail board voting ballot, count and report results.  This position is a two year commitment and requires 2-3 volunteer hours per month.

Adoption Conference—Directors and Officers

Responsibilities include planning and implementing the OURS Adoption Options Conference (held in March), which involves establishing and coordinating a conference budget, sub-committees, and conference venue; securing a keynote speaker, arranging accommodations for speakers, and producing conference registration materials; as well as organizing volunteer assignments for the day of the conference and compiling the evaluations post-conference. This position is a one year commitment and requires 3 – 5 volunteer hours per month in August and September, 10-12 volunteer hours per month from October – January, and 20-30 volunteer hours per month during the months of February and March. 

Adoption Information—Nichole Pansier

Responsibilities include managing the OURS phone line, returning calls and corresponding with individuals seeking adoption information.  This position is a one year commitment and requires 2-3 volunteer hours per month

Entertainment—Open Position

Responsibilities include planning family and group events for the calendar year, including securing speakers for quarterly events.  This position is a one year commitment and requires 3-4 volunteer hours per month

Membership—Christi Engels

Responsibilities include maintaining membership records and renewals, welcoming new members, updating directory annually and submitting news to the newsletter.  This position is a one year commitment and requires 3-4 volunteer hours per month.

Newsletter—Tanya Londo

Responsibilities include gathering, arranging, and assembling newsletter, which comes out quarterly.  This position is a one year commitment and requires an average commitment of 3 hours per month, with the majority of the time spent in the month the newsletter is produced.

Publicity—Open Position

Responsibilities include publicizing OURS events through a variety of media, preparing news release mailing lists, writing news releases and contacting various news media when needed.  This position is a one year commitment and requires 2-3 volunteer hours per month, plus an additional 3-5 hours for conference publicity.
